The Jewish CommunityWuerzburg and Lower Frankonia is facing enormous challenges as well in terms of manpower as in its infrastructure. These challenges cannot yet be met without help. When planning a new community and cultural centre the idea arose to channel and organise the assistance which was offered from outside. In 1998 the Action Group (Initiativkreis) Shalom Europa was founded, thanks to a considerable measure through the efforts of the late president of the community, Senator David Schuster. The Action Group complements with advice and actively the community's efforts to promote, plan and finance the project Shalom Europa.
